About Indiana's Academic Standards

  • Academic standards ensure that students are receiving a quality education that will prepare them to succeed in the higher education option of their choice and in today's competitive job market.
  • The standards identify what students should know and be able to do at each grade in English/language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and additional content areas.
  • Note: Links to Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) resources that describe individual standards are also included.
    Reading List
    The Indiana Reading List contains great age-appropriate books for you and your student to read together. They were picked with Indiana’s Academic Standards in English/Language Arts in mind, so reading them at home helps reinforce learning from school.
