GED

General Educational Development

The GED program has become a significant means for adults to acquire a high school equivalency diploma. GED Tests cover language arts reading and writing skills, social studies, science, and mathematics.

At age 17, an examinee must provide documentation of no longer being subject to Indiana Compulsory Attendance Laws and successfully pass the GED Practice Test.

Each examinee must be an Indiana resident for at least 30 days and present a photo identification and proof of age. Testing sites are located throughout the state.

A variety of adult education programs offered throughout Indiana can provide assistance with preparing for the GED.
