Career, Technical Education

Career and technical education courses help students explore their interests and career possibilities, and prepare for a career of interest. Content of career and technical education courses includes academic subject matter taught with relevance to the real world, job-related activities and workplace ethics. In some areas of the state, school districts provide career and technical education through regional area career centers.

In Indiana, career and technical education courses fall within five different program areas:

Students are also invited to participate in student organizations related to the above program areas:

In addition, students can take courses in Interdisciplinary Cooperative Education, in which they participate in on-the-job learning at a work site accompanied by classroom instruction.
